Joe's Stuffed Burgers
These burgers are sure to make you a rock star at the grill…
1.5 lbs ground sirloin
1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
2-3 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce (Joe just shakes it into the mix so this is an estimate!)
Garlic powder, salt & pepper to taste
Healthy amount of shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Mix all ingredients (except cheddar cheese) well by hand. Do not over mix or it will dry out your finished product! Shape into 8 thin, flat patties. Lay four patties on a platter and pile a healthy wad of cheddar cheese on each patty. The healthy wad of cheese shouldn’t spill over the edge of the patty.
Create a ‘sandwich’ with the remaining patties. Pinch each burger closed and reshape gently back into a round patty.
Place burgers on hot grill, as this allows your burgers to sear and lock in the juices. Do not press down on your burgers with the spatula- we want those juices to stay in the burger! Don’t flip too many times. Again, you’ll lose your juiciness! To check if they are done use a meat thermometer.
Add cheese, if desired, on top.
Sit back and watch the faces of those biting into these masterpieces and their enjoyment and surprise as the cheese oozes out through that first bite. Yep. You’ll be a rock star!
