2 tbsp. cider vinegar butter

1 cup cold water

7-9 pared & sliced apples (mix varieties, i.e. Granny Smith, Honey Crisp, Courtland)

Add 4-5 tablespoons liquid to ¼ of flour mixture

Make into a ball & repeat

Place 4 balls wrapped in wax paper in refrigerator to chill.

Combine flour, cinnamon, nutmeg in a separate bowl

Mix with apples until well coated

Roll out crusts on well-floured surface & place glass pie dish

Lay coated apples into crust, stack them, do not just dump them in

Place a few slabs on top of apples and cover with top crust

Now ’back in the day’ I used to blow a kiss into the pie before I place the top crust on… since the pandemic hit, I now just toss a little love and good wishes with a wave of my hand!
